This is the Barcelona Cathedral also known as the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia. Here there is constant live music playing in front of the church and locals performing as well. The picture is taken from the balcony of the apartment that I am staying at. Constructed from the 13th to 15th centuries this is a beautiful church that is packed with tourist.  Actually all of the Gothic Quarter is packed with tourists. This area is in the center of the old city of Barcelona. The apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the Picasso Museum and it is surrounded by many small bakeries, restaurants to have tapas at, and many open markets.

Barcelona is very different than home that’s for sure. Pickpocketing is a big issue more so if you are a tourist but even the locals have problems with it. I realize how spoiled we are in the US from driving our car just to go down the street to fast service at restaurants. Most streets are pedestrian streets and cars can’t be seen for miles. However, there are those who attempt to drive their cars in these narrow alleys, which is an interesting site.
